Evening: 5430 Long Course TT
I don't know how it happened, but I PRed on the TT loop by 6 minutes! This brought my average mph up to 21.5...nicht schlecht. This time around I was much more relaxed than previously. I should have known I was on pace for a good ride when a dude decked out in an aero helmet and a full disk wheel passed me on 36 and stayed in sight for awhile. At the time I didn't think anything of it because I figured he was just another Boulder tool, but I guess he really was moving. I didn't have my computer hooked up so I had no idea what my speed was. It wasn't until I passed 15 miles in 42 minutes that I knew I would finish faster than last time. When I finished I felt really good -- way better than last time. I know I could've busted out a solid run if I had to. After I cooled down I practiced mounting and dismounting a few times...I'll have to do that a lot more before the Sprint. So I guess all the work I put in during the winter is starting to pay off now. I imagine it would have earlier had I not thrown in the marathon for kicks. Recovering from the marathon took longer than I thought; even though I felt ok, my training has been not-so-good for the past month with motivation being hard to come by. Now I've turned the corner though. The marathon and my physical and mental recovery are now behind me and I can focus on the summer ahead =)
